This hilarious opera (featuring our talented 2024 Gate City Bank Young Artists) imagines a speed dating event held regularly at a local bar. True to life, some daters are shy, others self assured. Some are trustworthy, some are not. There are daters looking for future partners and many who are much more casual about it. During the course of the evening, some will be successful and others will fail miserably. Like a downtown street populated with a variety of restaurants, the music of the daters covers a wide variety of styles--operatic, classical, musical theater, and even pop.
